My story and how financial coaching can help you

I've Been There Too

In my early 20’s, I was $70,000 (2026 $) in debt and about to flunk out of college. In fact, I had failed significantly in every area of life. I had drifted away from my Christian faith and made many bad decisions, including significant overspending. My spending behavior was driven by things like seeking acceptance and not being content. The biggest root cause was choosing to follow my own selfishness instead of faith and humility. I share this to demonstrate a significant principle – money “problems” are actually symptoms of deeper root problems. If you don’t discover the real root causes of your problems and deal with them, they are going to continue weakening your financial health.

Thankfully, God reached out and got my attention and gave me the grace and direction I desperately needed to change my heart, my behavior and my life. I learned to be more content, think long-term and make better decisions. After learning and applying the financial principles and practices I teach, I was able to reduce financial anxiety, eliminate and avoid debt, practice generosity, and achieve major life goals.

I have a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Bachelor of Science from Georgia Southwestern State University. I worked in business for over 35 years specializing in Planning, Finance, Pricing, Operations, and Consulting. Helen and I live in Marietta, Georgia. We have 3 adult children and 1 grandchild.

I became a financial coach to help people reduce their anxiety and pain associated with their finances, improve their financial health and accomplish their life goals. Money is one of the biggest sources of stress in America—over 75% of people report feeling worried or anxious about their finances. Many are living paycheck to paycheck with too much debt and no plan. Sadly, most people don't admit to anyone that they're worried about money problems, so they limp along in silent pain. But there is hope! You can change. I can help.

In group settings and in one-on-one coaching, I’ve enjoyed helping people learn valuable skills, including how to:

✅ Create a plan that works

✅ Manage spending with less stress

✅ Prepare for emergencies and unexpected expenses

✅ Improve financial communication with your spouse

✅ Pay down debt strategically

✅ Plan for children’s education

✅ Build wealth and prepare for your later years

✅ Experience true financial freedom and peace of mind

Please get started -- schedule an initial consultation with me, or send me an email. Let's talk to see if I can help. I will listen and understand with empathy; and I will keep it confidential.

A financial coach is not a financial planner, financial advisor, investment advisor, accountant, certified public accountant, legal expert, insurance expert, or professional counselor. Your specific situation may need the services of an appropriate licensed legal, accounting, investment, or counseling service.
